Do you sometimes get the feeling that the major parties really aren't all that different? Labor would have you believe that if Tony Abbott is elected it will surely bring on the apocalypse, while Liberals paint Kevin Rudd as the devil that has run the country into the ground.

But are the two truly ideologically so opposed or are they both just hanging around somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum?

The Feed's election correspondent Dan Ilic takes a look at the race to the middle, a race that the coalition and labor are both desperate to win.
