The Labor Party has sacked advertising agency Naked Communications after details emerged of a pitch to swap pro-ALP content for an interview with the Prime Minister.
Fairfax said this morning the editor of its online youth title TheVine, Alyx Gorman, had been offered "exclusive" interviews with Kevin Rudd in exchange for pro-Labor advertising and editorial.
The document received by Ms Gorman encouraged editors to provide free advertising space on websites, "entertaining content on the theme of the inadequacy of the Liberal NBN plan," and "access to pro-Labor or pro-NBN talent" in exchange for a 10-minute interview, according to Fairfax reports.
Naked Communications said in a statement it was "no longer working" with the Labor Party, and that the ALP had no knowledge of the offer.
"Unfortunately the relationship has terminated due to some activity that took place which was not authorised by the ALP or part of the brief agreed by Naked management," the statement read.
The Labor Party has also denied any knowledge of the campaign.
Ms Gorman later tweeted that ALP secretary and election campaign manager George Wright called her to apologise for "what unfolded" between TheVine and Naked.
