Labor to be briefed on Syria mission

Opposition leader Bill Shorten says Labor wants to be bipartisan on national security and will be briefed on extending the combat mission to Syria

Labor will be briefed on plans to extend Australian air operations into Syria.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said he had spoken to Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Friday and arrangements were being made for Labor to be updated next week on the extension of the combat mission.

"Labor always seeks to achieve bipartisanship on national security," he told reporters in Perth.
