The Labor government plans to push the coalition hard on its planned budget cuts, as the election campaign enters its third week.
ALP headquarters has released a new round of attack advertisements to the commercial broadcasters focusing on what it says voters can expect from a Tony Abbott-led government.
The ads focus on health, education and jobs and say the opposition leader isn't being up-front about his plans.
Voters got a taste of this on Sunday when Prime Minister Kevin Rudd claimed the coalition was planning $70 billion of cuts that could push Australia into recession from 2014.
The opposition has consistently rejected the $70 billion figure, saying it's already got $17 billion of targeted savings in the bag.
It's sent more than 200 policies to the independent Parliamentary Budget Office for costing and is waiting for a response.
Mr Abbott has already signalled Australians won't have all his policies and savings plans to consider before the final week ahead of the September 7 poll.
Both Mr Rudd and Mr Abbott will start Monday in Sydney before moving on to their next campaign targets.
Later in the week they will square off at a People's Forum at the Broncos Leagues Club in Brisbane.
The forum, to be broadcast by pay TV outfit Sky News, will run for an hour from 6.30pm on Wednesday.
