Federal Labor has vowed to reverse the coalition's cuts to bulk billing incentives for blood tests, x-rays and ultrasounds.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, addressing Labor's campaign launch in western Sydney on Sunday, announced plans to inject $650 million back into pathology and diagnostic imaging.

"When you are in the fight of your life, when your family member is in the fight of their life, you need a government on your side and we will be that government," he told the party faithful.
