After just one term in Liberal hands, Labor has snatched back the Tasmanian seat of Lyons with Brian Mitchell claiming victory in the state's geographically largest electorate.
In 2013 Eric Hutchinson won the division with a margin of just 1.2 per cent, ousting Labor's Dick Adams who had held it since 1993.
"We've worked for this win non-stop for two years, but to see the win as emphatically as it seems to be tonight ... it's an enormous privilege," Mr Mitchell told reporters in Hobart.
