Australian batsman Travis Head believes a lack of cricket won't leave him underdone for the one-day international series against in-form India.
Head is one of several Australians in Chennai preparing for Sunday's opener of the five-match series who has not played a competitive 50-over match since early June.
While half of Australia's squad played in the drawn two-Test series against Bangladesh in August-September, the rest have spent the summer pre-season at home.
That includes Head, whose sole hit-out was Wednesday's win over an Indian Board President's XI when he scored 65.
"I feel confident," Head said.
"It was nice to get some time in the middle the other day and get a feel for the wicket and conditions.
"Feeling fit. Feeling ready to go. Feel really fresh."
Head last played in the Champions Trophy in England in June, but even then game-time was limited.
Two fixtures were washed out before a loss to the hosts prevented Australia progressing past the group stage.
India, however, are coming straight off a five-game ODI whitewash of Sri Lanka.
Australia have strong recent form in ODIs on the subcontinent, winning seven of their past eight dating back to late 2013.
As well as this year's Test tours of Bangladesh and India, Head said his teammates' involvement in the Indian Premier League meant there'd be no unfamiliarity with the conditions.
"You'd seen from the other day, most of the batters came in and got into their work," he said.
"The bowlers did the same thing. So most guys know the conditions pretty well."
