Lonzo Ball's bid for a third straight triple-double was short-circuited by a calf injury in the Los Angeles Lakers' 108-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the semi-finals of the NBA Summer League.

The lead Ball helped the Lakers build while he was in the game proved just enough to top the Mavericks.

The No.2 NBA Draft pick Ball had 16 points and 10 assists in 21 minutes before leaving the game with a strained right calf in Las Vegas.

The Lakers will face the Portland Trail Blazers, who beat Memphis 87-82 in the other semi-final, on Monday night.

Ball also had four rebounds, putting him well on his way to this third triple-double of summer league play before the setback.

The 19-year-old Ball tried to jog it off in a back hallway in the third quarter, but he was hobbling and was shut down for the remainder of the game.

There was no immediate word on his availability for the championship game on Monday night.
