Lakers rack up rare back-to-back NBA wins

The Los Angeles Lakers have recorded a 107-98 victory over the Orlando Magic - only the third time this season they've scored consecutive NBA wins.

P - D'Angelo Russell scored 27 points and Jordan Clarkson added 24 points to guide the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107-98 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night at Staples Center.

Julius Randle collected 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers (14-51), who won a second consecutive game for only the third time this season. Tuesday's win comes on the heels of a rout Sunday of the Golden State Warriors.

The Magic (27-36), who were coming off a 119-113 loss to the Warriors on Monday night, were led by Victor Oladipo's 26 points. Evan Fournier chipped 23 points for Orlando, who lost their third straight.

Lakers forward Kobe Bryant sat out with a sore right shoulder. It marked the fourth time in the past six games Bryant was out of the line-up and the 14th game he missed this season.

Elsewhere, Damian Lillard had 41 points and 11 assists, and the Portland Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 116-109 overtime victory over the Washington Wizards.

It was Lillard's 15th straight game with 20-plus points, the second-longest streak in the NBA behind Kevin Durant's 48. CJ McCollum added 18 points for Portland, which moved into sixth place in the Western Conference.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and seven rebounds to help San Antonio to a 116-91 triumph over Minnesota.

The Spurs (54-10) led by as many as 26 points in a game they played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and coach Gregg Popovich.

Andrew Wiggins had 23 points and eight rebounds for the Timberwolves.

Jeff Teague scored 24 points to lead Atlanta to a 91-84 road win over Utah while DeMar DeRozan had 25 points for Toronto, and Kyle Lowry added 23 points and nine assists in their 104-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Kenneth Faried had 24 points and 10 rebounds to help the Nuggets to their eighth straight win, a 110-94 victory over the Knicks at the Pepsi Centre.
