Lambie to fight 'insane' pathology cuts

Independent senator Jacqui Lambie has vowed to team up with Labor to disallow any government regulation that attacks Medicare.

Independent senator Jacqui Lambie has vowed to team up with Labor and the Greens to stop a Turnbull government plan she believes will deter women from getting pap smears.

Senator Lambie has threatened to vote against all government legislation until it drops its "insane" plan to axe bulk-billing incentive payments for pathology services, saving $650 million.

"I will use my vote to disallow any Liberal government regulation which attacks our Medicare bulk-billing system," she told the Senate on Tuesday.
