Small surf has forced World Surf League organisers to call a lay day for the Rip Curl Pro men's event in Portugal.
When conditions improve and competition begins in the second-last stop on the 2015 tour, the world's best will battle it out at the barrelling beachbreak of Supertubos.
"We have beautiful offshore conditions down here this morning but, unfortunately, there isn't much swell around," said WSL deputy commissioner Travis Logie.
"We have a very promising forecast for later on this week and going into next week, so we're going to be off for today."
First to compete will be Filipe Toledo, Jadson Andre and Tomas Hermes in an all-Brazilian showdown in the opening heat of round one.
Event organisers will convene on Wednesday at 8am (local time) to assess conditions for a possible start.
