Lay day in Portugal for world surf event

The start of the World Surf League event in Portugal has been delayed due to small surf.

As expected, the start of the men's World Surf League event in Portugal has been delayed again due to small surf.

Officials made the call early on Wednesday and minimal swell is also forecast on Thursday.

Waves are set to build on Friday before easing again over the weekend, meaning the event - the second-last on the men's tour - might have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to commence.
