The prime minister and opposition leader will join military chiefs at Parliament House in Canberra on Thursday to launch the annual International Women's Day.

Australia's political and military leaders will gather in Canberra to launch the annual International Women's Day.

The prime minister and opposition leader will join military chiefs at Parliament House on Thursday morning to kickstart celebrations ahead of the worldwide day on March 8.

This year's theme is 'More Powerful Together' and focuses on men, women and gender diverse people working as one to achieve gender equality.
