Lebanon qualify for rugby league World Cup

Lebanon winger Travis Robinson has scored three tries to help crush South Africa and lift his side into the rugby league World Cup.

Lebanon have qualified for their first rugby league World Cup since 2000 with a 50-16 second leg win over South Africa at the Bosman Stadium in Brakpan, Pretoria.

Cedars winger Travis Robinson followed up his hat-trick in his side's 40-12 first-leg win with another treble as Lebanon triumphed 90-28 on aggregate to clinch their place in the 2017 tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

"This is the best day of my life," Lebanon captain Chris Saab said.

"We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and I hope every Lebanese person - as well as past and present players - have something to smile about."
