Chinese hardware upstart LeEco has accidentally showed off key parts of its device line-up two weeks before the company is set to officially launch its US business.
The leak, which was first spotted by AndroidPolice, revealed two budget-phones as well as four different TV sets based on Google's Android TV platform.
Product shots also show numerous LeEco-branded apps, suggesting that the company wants to use its devices to grow its entertainment services, much like it has done in China.
The leaks suggest that LeEco plans to sell its Le Max2 and its Le S3 smart phone to US consumers. Both phones are already budget-priced, but may be subject to deep introductory discounts, with the S3 selling for as little as $US169 ($A222). In addition, the leaks show four TV models. Pricing for these TV sets is unclear, but all of them are based on Google's Android TV platform.
This means that these TVs will have access to apps from all major content providers, including Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, HBO and others.
LeEco recently invited journalists to a press event in San Francisco on October 19, which it wants to use to officially launch its US business.
The company isn't just looking to sell devices in the US, but actually has been working on a massive expansion that includes the opening of a Silicon Valley-based office and the hiring of key executives from Samsung and other competitors.
