Leichhardt to host Pacific league Tests

The Pacific Rugby League Tests will be played at Leichhardt Oval for the first time in 2019.

Leichhardt Oval will for the first time play host to the mid-year Pacific Test Invitational during the NRL representative round.

The June 22 event will feature Samoa taking on Papua New Guinea, Fiji playing Lebanon and a women's Test between PNG and Fiji.

The event has been played at Campbelltown Stadium, Parramatta Stadium, Cbus Super Stadium and Penrith Stadium in past years and it will represent the first time it has been staged at the suburban Sydney ground.

"The Pacific Test Invitational is one of the most highly-anticipated and culturally diverse events on the rugby league calendar," NRL head of football Graham Annesley said.

"To see some of international rugby league's best male and female Pacific and Lebanese players take to one Sydney's traditional suburban grounds in Leichhardt Oval is an event not to be missed."
