Let's talk super tax breaks, seniors say

National Seniors Australia wants to talk about reining in super tax breaks for the wealthy when business, union and community leaders meet on Thursday.

Seniors are calling for superannuation tax breaks to be reined in for wealthy Australians ahead of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's mini-summit on economic reform.

National Seniors Australia, the peak lobby group for over 50s, says there is some consensus among groups ahead of Thursday's meeting to consider the economically unsustainable concessions.

"Too much of it is ending up with people who have substantial super savings anyway and not dealing with those who fall through the cracks," chief executive Michael O'Neill told AAP on Wednesday.
