Ley hoses down govt super tension claims

Sussan Ley has responded to reports tensions between Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison are boiling over on the coalition's superannuation policy.

Cabinet minister Sussan Ley is hosing down reports of a heated clash between former prime minister Tony Abbott and Treasurer Scott Morrison over superannuation changes.

Mr Abbott confronted Mr Morrison about the measures in a private meeting of coalition MPs last week, arguing the government is wrong to offer super concessions to low-income earners, The Australian reports.

But Ms Ley denies there's disquiet within the government over the policy, telling reporters in Melbourne on Sunday it was in a "good place" and insisting MPs understood the measures had been taken to an election.
