New Zealand veteran Laura Langman and England Test star Geva Mentor have joined the Sunshine Coast Lightning for next year's new national netball league.

One of three new franchises, the Lightning unveiled their full squad on Tuesday after revealing last week that Diamonds shooting duo Caitin Bassett and Stephanie Wood had signed on.

Silver Ferns veteran midcourter Langman and former Vixen Mentor have ensured the new franchise have experience across the court.

Both players have played in championship-winning sides with Langman part of New Zealand's only title with the Magic under Lightning coach Noeline Taurua before shifting to NSW this year, and Mentor at the Vixens.

Both have played nore thanr 100 Tests, however Langman's signing means she will be unavailable for international selection with Netball New Zealand insisting players be based in New Zealand.

Kiwi Erena Mikaere, who was also part of the winning Magic team, has also signed on while defender Karla Mostert is the first South African to join the league.

Kelsey Browne has left the Vixens for the new franchise while local trio Cara Koenen, Laura Scherian and Madeline McAuliffe complete the 10-strong line-up.

Taurua said she was delighted with her squad.

"While we have the makings of a competitive team, we have a lot of work ahead of us to be ready for the start of the new competition in February," Taurua said.
