Lightsaber battles will no longer be just fought in a galaxy far, far away with the French Fencing Federation recognising the style as an official sport.
Star War's fans will be able to use the Force like their favourite Jedi Knights using LED-lit, rigid polycarbonate replicas - which are slightly safer than the lightsabers in George Lucas' epic saga.
However, the luminous lightsaber will sound like the blades wielded by Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, according to Lightsaber manufacturer, Christian Levieuge.

"We have some very basic ones which are just with on-off buttons and with different colours or shapes. But there is also much, much, much-improved weapon which can have sounds, blade effects," he told AP.
Participants will wear helmets and padding while fighting - due to the physicality of the sport - in three-minute bouts.
The FFF said the physical nature was partially due to why they recognised lightsaber duelling as a sport.
In the past, movies such as Robin Hood, Zoro and the Three Musketeers have helped raise participation rates in fencing.
But now the Jedi are joining them.
