Lillyman back for Warriors clash

Injured Queensland prop Jacob Lillyman returns to the front row for the Warriors in their 20th round NRL clash with the Canberra Raiders.

Queensland prop Jacob Lillyman comes into the front row for Charlie Gubb in the only line-up change for the Warriors going into Saturday's NRL clash with the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium.

Lillyman picked up an ankle injury in the third and final State of Origin match, forcing him to miss last weekend's long-haul away game against Manly in Perth.

Gubb will miss this week's game against the Raiders after landing a grade two shoulder charge in the Warriors' 15-14 golden point loss to the Sea Eagles.

The Warriors will dispute the grading at a judiciary hearing in Sydney on Wednesday.

Lillyman will start alongside James Gavet while senior prop Ben Matulino is again listed to come off an unchanged bench alongside Tuimoala Lolohea, Sam Lisone and Jazz Tevaga.

The Warriors have won their last two matches in Canberra - 54-18 in 2014 and 18-6 in 2015 - but coach Andrew McFadden is ignoring those results as he prepares to shape up against his old club again.

"The Raiders are on the rise and are playing some really good football at the moment so it's going to be a good test for us.

"There was lots of disappointment for us losing to Manly - we started slowly and that probably cost us in the end," he said.

"We built ourselves into the game but we just couldn't come up with that final blow in what were difficult conditions."

In other injury news, McFadden confirmed that Albert Vete (hamstring) won't be considered for this weekend's match, but Bodene Thompson (ankle) remains a possibility.

Warriors: David Fusitua, Ken Maumalo, Blake Ayshford, Solomone Kata, Manu Vatuvei, Thomas Leuluai, Shaun Johnson, Jacob Lillyman, Issac Luke, James Gavet, Bunty Afoa, Ryan Hoffman (capt), Simon Mannering. Res: Tuimoala Lolohea, Sam Lisone, Ben Matulino, Jazz Tevaga.
