The inquest into the Lindt Cafe siege is set to resume with officers expected to give evidence as the focus on the police response to the deadly ordeal continues.
Last week the commander of the NSW Police State Protection Group told the long-running public inquest a plan to give gunman Man Haron Monis an Islamic State flag in the hope he would release hostages was discussed, but decided against over fears it would prompt him to become violent.
Tactical operations officers were forced to storm the cafe when manager Tori Johnson was shot point blank by Monis.
Monis was killed in the ensuing gunfight that also claimed the life of barrister Katrina Dawson in the early hours of December 16, 2014.
