Brisbane captain Tom Rockliff says the Lions training facilities are not up to AFL standards.
Rockliff says facilities haven't been changed for 16-years at the club, which sits second last on the AFL ladder, having registered just two wins for the season.
"We're below ground the whole time, we don't have any sunlight in there or anything like that and the gym only got a makeover because it flooded last year," Rockliff told RSN radio on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old said it was hard enough battling to compete with the AFL's biggest clubs in a non-traditional football market without the added disadvantage of aging facilities.
"We're battling a fair bit with the facility, it is always a challenge to compete at the highest level. I know it's not the be-all and end-all ... but the facility definitely helps," Rockliff said.

"They haven't changed since 2000, so you think about that 16 years and the technology that would have changed in that period."
Rockliff described his team's performance in a 94-point loss to Port Adelaide as embarrassing and said the Lion's senior players needed to set a higher standard.
