Locations of Qld's most dangerous fires

Major bushfires have caused havoc across Queensland with thousands of people forced from their homes amid catastrophic conditions.

Major bushfires that have caused evacuations in Queensland on Thursday between 1100 AEST and 1630 AEST

DEEPWATER:

This remains an extremely large fire south of Agnes Water on the state's central coast forcing evacuations of about 1000 people.

It is still considered dangerous with evacuations from communities of Winfield and Captain Creek, not far from Baffle Creek where fires have been burning for almost a week.

TINNANBAR:

South of Hervey Bay, people of seaside village Tinnanbar on the Fraser Coast were told it was "too late to leave" at 1510 AEST as a bushfire closed in.

The wildfire is travelling north-east and Tinnanbar Road is cut off by smoke and flames.

GRACEMERE:

Towns surrounding Gracemere - which was evacuated on Wednesday - were forced to flee on Thursday as Stanwell and Kabra were evacuated at 1300 AEST.

Residents of tourist town The Caves, just 25km further north, were also told to go at 1325 AEST as a fast-moving fire closed in on the community of about 700 people.

EUNGELLA:

A large fire burning in the Eungella National Park forced the evacuation of the tiny village of Broken River at 1140 AEST.

Power supplies have been intermittent since Monday's fireball, causing problems for residents who use electric water pumps to access groundwater.

People were told to evacuate via Mackay Eungella Road.

AMBROSE:

This fire swept through township of Mount Larcom on Wednesday damaging at least one home and threatening a school.

It continues to burn near The Narrows Road travelling west toward Gostevsky Road, Mount Larcom.

All roads to Mount Larcom and Ambrose have reopened and police have advised residents that it is safe to return.
