Federal and state ministers have met with the Logan City Council in south-east Queensland after violent street fights last month in the disadvantaged suburb of Woodridge.

A dispute between an Aboriginal and a Pacific Islander family received national media attention and politicians vowed to fix the area's social issues.

Improvements to employment, social housing, education and training were discussed for one of the Queensland's most ethnically diverse communities.

Queensland Council of Union's indigenous industrial officer and Logan resident Gwen Taylor attended the summit and spoke with Queensland correspondent Stefan Armbruster about the outcomes.
