Low-key Bullets full of weapons: coach

The Bullets might lack a marquee megastar like Andrew Bogut or Chris Goulding but they have several different experienced options stepping up at key times.

Brisbane coach Andrej Lemanis praised the Bullets' strong depth and capacity for different players to step up, which he believes more than makes up for the absence of a big-name superstar.

In Sunday's nail-biting 93-90 victory over the Adelaide 36ers, it was off-season recruit Cam Gliddon's turn, the former Cairns captain firing a career-high 30 points - including the match-winning, last-second three-pointer.

Three days earlier Reuben Te Rangi notched a personal-best 29, including six threes, against the Sixers in Brisbane, while the previous week Cam Bairstow top-scored in a win over Perth.

"When we were looking to recruit this team and put all the pieces together, some people asked 'who's your superstar?'," Lemanis said.

"We don't need a superstar. We have lots of good deep talent who at different times on different nights can step up.

"We can spread the load, we don't rely on someone scoring 30 every night.

"We've got tremendous depth."

Conversely, the 36ers are on a three-game losing skid and a mile away from last season when they made the grand final.

Adelaide coach Joey Wright touched on a number of issues his side is facing but is confident his charges can claw their way back into contention.

"Right now, we've got some youth issues, leadership issues - myself being one - and some club culture issues," he said.

"We've got to work through them.

"We've dug ourselves out of holes before and we have to do it again. We're not going to give up - there's plenty of time to go."
