A much-needed dose of perspective from his parents has rising Australian star Curtis Luck confident of securing a US PGA Tour card.
The top-25 money earners in the secondary tour's finals series are promoted to the lucrative main circuit for next season and among those already graduated are Australians Cameron Davis and Matt Jones.
Reigning Australian Open champion Davis booked his PGA Tour ticket with a third placing in the Web.com finals opener, while Jones tied for second in the next event.
Luck set himself with a share of fifth at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship but a missed cut at the DAP Championship delayed his promotion.
But the former US Amateur champion isn't fazed by what is at stake at this week's Albertsons Boise Open, the third event of the finals which starts Thursday at Idaho's Hillcrest Country Club.
"I'm not too stressed," Luck told AAP.
"I think pressure is always something I've thrived on and at this point it's definitely on.
"I know what it's going to take and I've just got to stick to my guns."
Luck, who flirted with securing a PGA Tour card from a handful of sponsor's invitations last year, credited his parents with helping him to stay patient.
"(They) have done a really good job on giving me a good (perspective) on where I sit in the grand scheme of things right now," Luck said in a Web.com Tour video.
"Technically, I'm doing an apprenticeship; I've just clicked over my first year of being a pro.
"Most people who get to high-paying jobs in regular industries take years, if not decades, to get there.
"My family and people around me have given me a realistic view on how long things can take."
Joining Luck in the field at the Boise Open is countryman Aaron Baddeley, who was relegated to the Web.com Tour finals after the PGA Tour regular season concluded in August.
Baddeley sits on the bubble of the top-25 on the finals moneylist at 26th, while fellow Victorian veteran Cameron Percy's hopes are also alive at 46th.
Australians also teeing up in Idaho include Davis, Rhein Gibson, Brett Drewitt, John Senden and Stuart Appleby.
