Fremantle's Anthony Morabito, the AFL player who defines luckless, has suffered another injury setback and is likely to miss the start of the 2016 season with a torn hamstring.

Morabito, who missed the all 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons due to three knee reconstructions, was having a strong pre-season until the hamstring injury on Monday.

The 24-year-old midfielder has played just 26 games since being taken with pick No.4 in the 2009 draft and didn't play an AFL game last year due to on-going knee soreness.

He will train with the club's rehabilitation group in a bid to be considered for the Dockers' first round match on March 27.
