Australian triathlete Annabel Luxford has ended Caroline Steffen's half-Ironman distance streak, winning the western Sydney 70.3 race.
Wollongong's David Mainwaring also claimed his first 70.3 title at the Penrith event on Sunday.
Steffen, who is Swiss but based for much of the year in Australia, had won the last five 70.3 races she had started.
Backing up from her 12th on debut last month at the Hawaiian Ironman world championships, Luxford broke clear of Steffen on the second half of the bike.
She convincingly won the 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run event in four hours eight minutes 29 seconds.
Steffen finished six minutes back and Australian Andrea Forrest was third with 4:20:37.
Luxford had finished runner-up to Steffen earlier this year at the Cairns and Sunshine Coast 70.3 races.
Mainwaring made his move on the run to win in 3:48:24, just 25 seconds ahead of Jake Montgomery.
Nicholas Kastelein made it an all-Australian men's podium with his 3:50:19.
