Gold Coast forward Tom Lynch has admitted he needs to keep his cool better during AFL matches.
The Suns' sharpshooter let frustration get the better of him during a recent defeat to Sydney, striking Swan Jeremy Laidler in the stomach off the ball.
The hit didn't result in a suspension, with Lynch later copping a fine after being charged by the match review panel.
Coach Rodney Eade labelled Lynch's behaviour "unacceptable" after the match and the forward agrees.
"Rocket (Eade) spoke to me after the game and I've spoken to a couple of coaches about it," Lynch said.
"I know when I play my best footy, I'm aggressive but obviously that's got to be at the ball and that was a cheap shot really, what I did.
"I was disappointed in myself and the team was as well. I've had a good chat and hopefully it won't happen again."
Lynch's temper will face another test this weekend when the Suns face premiers Hawthorn in Tasmania on Sunday.
The big forward says the Hawks' physical presence is immense and if Gold Coast are to have any chance of snapping their nine-game losing streak they'll need to match up to their vaunted opponents.
"They've won the last three premierships, they're one of the modern greats," he said.
"It was a physical game on Friday night. We really enjoy that type of footy, so we're looking forward to it."
