Gold Coast spearhead Tom Lynch says improved depth at the AFL club will allow them to cover the absence of fellow co-captain Steven May when they take on unbeaten Adelaide on Saturday.
May was having scans on his hamstring on Tuesday, with the key defender expected to miss three weeks after suffering an injury during the Suns' 26-point win over Carlton last weekend.
Lynch kicked a career-high seven goals against the Blues, helping Gold Coast secure their first win in Victoria under coach Rodney Eade.
But Lynch isn't the only forward firing in the AFL, with Adelaide's Eddie Betts having kicked the equal-most goals in the league with 16, and Crows captain Taylor Walker kicking 11 majors through the first four weeks.
Lynch admits stopping Adelaide would be easier with fullback May, but is confident other Suns will take their chances to shine.

"He's our captain, he's a great player and we're obviously going to miss him but it gives other blokes opportunities," Lynch said.
"We're much better placed this year to cover for him - Jack Leslie has been in really good form at the moment."
That good form will need to continue against Adelaide, who have the second-best percentage in 2017.
Lynch says it would be a great feeling to upset one of the flag-favourites at Metricon Stadium.
"I think every team would be looking to knock off teams like Adelaide and GWS Giants, obviously we failed against GWS (in round two)," Lynch said.
"Adelaide will be a good test for us and we're looking forward to improving on a really ordinary effort in round two."
