Macmahon wins $241m contract in Indonesia

The mining services company has won a five-year contract worth $US170 million in Indonesia, in a joint venture with a local partner.

Mining services company Macmahon Holdings has won a five-year contract worth about $US170 million ($A240.90 million) to provide mining services at the Martabe gold mine in Indonesia.

The company said it will be deliver the contract in a 50-50 joint venture with a leading Indonesian contractor.

The two partners will provide all mining and bulk earthworks-related services, as well as placement and compaction of material on the tailings storage facility and related work to access new open pit mining areas.

Macmahon, which expects its revenues may halve this financial year, earlier this week won a contract worth $62 million a year from Newcrest Mining.
