Mad Bastards, an Australian film set in the picturesque Kimberley region and based on the tangled lives of three Aboriginal men, had its world premiere in Sydney.
Filmed on location in the Kimberley and Perth, Mad Bastards tells the story of Aboriginal man TJ and his attempts to reconnect with his estranged 13-year old son.
Hundreds of people converged to Sydney University's quadrangle to watch it.

Described as realistic and unique, the film draws on traditional Indigenous forms of storytelling.
"I would say Mad Bastards is an adventure into the Kimberley. It's framed by stories about Fathers and Sons and you know, a man looking for his son”, movie Director Brendan Fletcher told SBS.
"But really it's a journey. It's a journey into a part of Australia that is ... the final frontier in many ways.
The film features appearances from folk band The Pigram Brothers and ARIA award winning singer-songwriter Alex Lloyd, all of whom wowed the audience at the Premiere.
The film is set to be shown at the prestigious Sundance film festival in the United States next week and it will be released for general viewing in Australia in May.
