Magnitude 6.0 quake hits Philippines

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 has hit near the centre of the Philippine archipelago, a Chinese monitoring agency says.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck near the centre of the Philippine archipelago at a depth of 540 km, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reports.

The quake struck around 9am on Saturday under the Bohol Sea south of Cebu City, it said.
