Magnitude 6.1 quake strikes off Japan

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck off the Japanese island of Okinawa.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 has struck off Japan's island of Okinawa, the US Geological Survey says.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the quake, which hit at a depth of 33km about 267km east of Okinawa.
