Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes off Indon

Indonesia has been hit by an early morning earthquake, which measured 6.2, but was 41km deep.

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck off Indonesia.

According to the US Geological Survey, the quake struck at 1726 GMT on Wednesday (0426 AEDT on Thursday).

The epicenter of the earthquake was 178km east of Ternate in the Moluccas and about 41km deep, the USGS said.
