Magnitude 6.3 earthquake strikes off Tonga

An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude has struck in the Pacific Ocean, 427 km southwest of the island of Tonga, the US Geological Survey (USGS) says.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre did not issue a tsunami warning.
