Magnitude 7.3 quake hits off Vanuatu

The US Geological Survey says a 7.3 magnitude earthquake has struck off Vanuatu.

A magnitude 7.3 earthquake has struck off the coast of Vanuatu, the US Geological Survey says.

There was no threat of a Pacific-wide tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said after the quake early on Friday.

The quake was centred about 95km southeast of the town of Santo at a depth of 10km, USGS said.
