Magpies expect Pendlebury back soon

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley is confident Scott Pendlebury will overcome a broken finger to play out the last month of the AFL season.

Collingwood expect Scott Pendlebury to lace up for selection in the next fortnight, and will resist calls to ice their skipper for the rest of the AFL season.

Pendlebury has had surgery on the finger after breaking it in last week's drought-busting win over Gold Coast, with coach Nathan Buckley reporting there was still a "fair bit of trauma" to repair.

"It may be one, it may be two (weeks but) we'll make sure we make the right call for him .... if he's fit, he plays," he said.
