Collingwood's American Pie, Mason Cox, isn't giving anything away on his AFL future, declining to commit to another season with the club.
Cox, 26, played in his 20th AFL match on Saturday since being spotted in a Los Angeles draft camp for overseas talent.
The giant ruck debuted last year on Anzac Day last year and has developed well at Collingwood despite no knowledge of the game as a junior.
But that doesn't mean he will be staying at the club that gave him his chance in the sport, saying he would explore contact offers now the Magpies' season is over.
"I can't really answer (whether I'm staying at Collingwood) and I don't want to talk about it," he told AAP.
"It's up in the air. I've got no idea. I'll talk to my agent and see where it goes.
"I've got some decisions for myself in the next few weeks."
Nathan Buckley, whose position as coach will be assessed and decided in the coming days, said he was confident Cox would stay - locking in a dual-pronged ruck team with fellow re-signed big man Brodie Grundy.
"The last three weeks have shown what Coxy can bring," he said after their 16-point win over Melbourne.
"You need a list that's 30-35 deep that can come in and play a role ... Mason has probably shown in the last three weeks that he's more than that.
"But like most players out of contract, he'll have a decision to make.
"He's 26, he's come from the other side of the world. I'd like to see him (stay) and help finish the journey off."
Buckley's future could be linked to Cox.
The in-limbo coach held an impromptu behind closed-doors meeting on Saturday afternoon after signing the team song.
Cox revealed Buckley spoke of his pride and love for his players and their effort.
"He said it had been one of his favourite years as coach," he said.
"He said some things are going to change around here but he said he would always be there for us. It was really good to hear that.
"We'd all prefer to be playing finals obviously but to go out on a win and one we're all proud of was great."
Buckley said fellow out-of-contract Magpie Tyson Goldsack was likely to stay.
"Goldy's had a great year ... you'll see him again," he said.
