South Sydney coach Michael Maguire says he and Luke Keary are in constant communication surrounding the playmaker's future at the NRL club.
Reports are intensifying the off-contract five-eighth could be on the outer at the Rabbitohs, but Maguire has indicated he sees a future for the 24-year-old at Souths.
"My regard and my thoughts about him are definitely about him being here," Maguire said.
"I think he's a quality player and a quality individual. We've just got to work through what's in front of us."
Maguire also laughed off rumours of a split between the pair.
Keary was involved in an off-season bust-up with club co-owner Russell Crowe, but Maguire was adamant that hadn't extended to any dramas related to himself.
"I don't know where you guys find things," he told reporters.
"That's speculation on our side. The playing group and myself, I'm very happy with them and I know exactly where we're at."
Keary has also been linked with a potential move to rugby union, where he represented Australia at schoolboys level.
Again though, Maguire suggested that would be news to him.
"(It was a) different one," he said.
"I guess there is always going to be speculation when people are off-contract with all sorts of things."
Keary will return from suspension for Saturday night's clash with Newcastle, desperate to make the most of an opportunity presented by the 12-week jaw injury sustained by halfback Adam Reynolds.
It had been suggested Keary may have originally lost his first grade spot to rookie Cody Walker, however the Reynolds injury should give him the best part of the next three months to play for both his short-term and long-term future.
"He's got a lot of hunger with how he has been around training," Maguire said.
"He's looking forward to just focusing on his footy. The footy will do the talking and as an organisation he knows the direction we're going."
