A landslide on a main road in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is likely to cause traffic headaches for commuters following a devastating storm.
VicRoads says Warrigal Road is closed between Canterbury and Riversdale Roads at Surrey Hills following the landslide about 8.30pm on Tuesday.
The road will be closed throughout Wednesday's morning peak and will remain closed until a full geotechnical assessment has been made at first light.
Meanwhile almost 30,000 properties are still without power on Wednesday morning after storms lashed Victoria, damaging buildings and felling power lines.
Victoria State Emergency Service's northeast unit and other services reported more than 440 requests for help - including one property that was left unhabitable, houses with missing roofs, and more than 100 felled trees and traffic hazards.
Emergency and clean-up crews will return on Wednesday morning to tarp roofs and perform repairs to 60 remaining buildings that were left damaged or clearing trees.
