The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) says there's major flooding after the river peaked at 10.9 metres on Monday.

Meanwhile river levels at Wagga Wagga are expected to peak at 10.6 metres in the next few hours - just short of the level they were at during the 1974 flood.

The Riverina town and downstream is expected to experience major flooding for the next three to four weeks, the BoM says.

The river is expected to peak at 8.8 metres at Naranderra on Thursday with major flooding at Darlington Point.

Carrathool and Hay are also expected to be hit with floods in coming days.
