The Milwaukee Bucks have selected Australian centre Thon Maker with the 10th pick of the NBA Draft, giving Australia two of the top 10 after Ben Simmons went No.1.
Maker was embroiled in controversy just hours before the draft when reports surfaced that some NBA teams ruled him out because they believed the 19-year-old could be aged 21 or 23.
The 216cm-tall Maker was born in war-torn Sudan and, when he was five, his family fled and settled in Perth, where he was discovered playing soccer.
Earlier Simmons was made the No.1 pick by the Philadelphia 76ers as expected.
