The man accused of ramming his car into a western Sydney hijab shop was involved in a road-rage incident four months prior, a NSW court has heard.
Sabry Moustafa Nassar, 51, was denied bail for a third time on Thursday when his Supreme Court application failed.
Mr Nassar is facing up to two years in jail after being charged with a string of offences related to the 21 May crash into the front of Hijab House at Greenacre.
The court heard that on 14 January this year, Mr Nassar was also involved in an incident at Lakemba in which he tailgated a car, veered onto the wrong side of the road and rammed the other car several times.
Justice Michael Walton denied Mr Nassar's bail application after refusing to accept his lawyer's argument he may have suffered an epileptic seizure.
Security footage from the incident showed the car rear-end another car at traffic lights in Greenacre before racing through a busy intersection into Hijab House.
Police said 14 people in total were treated at the scene, including a 13-year-old girl.
At least two people inside the shop suffered broken bones.
Most of the injured people were women aged between 18 and 36, but none of their injuries were life-threatening.
"The community is shaken and [the Hijab House] management is working to make sense of this tragedy," the shop's owners wrote on Facebook after the incident.
"The important thing is everyone is still alive."
