Man and boy die in Queensland truck crash

A collision between a car and a truck northwest of Brisbane has killed a man and a seven-year-old boy.

A six-year-old is fighting for her life following a crash that claimed the lives of a boy and a man after their car collided with a truck northwest of Brisbane.

The 27-year-old man and seven-year-old boy died on Tuesday when their ute collided with a truck in Murgon.

Two girls - aged one and six - who were also rear seat passengers were treated at the scene and taken to Murgon Hospital with the six-year-old later airlifted to Brisbane's Lady Cilento Children's Hospital for further treatment.

The one-year-old girl has been released from hospital.

The driver of the semi-trailer, a 52-year-old man, was not injured but treated for shock.

State Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington whose electorate includes Murgon said her "heart goes out to the family of the deceased".

"My prayers and thoughts are with the little girl who is currently at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane," Ms Frecklington said.
