Man arrested after four-hour Vic siege

A man, who was armed with a knife, will undergo psychiatric assessment after keeping police at bay in Melbourne.

Heavily armed police have arrested a man after a four-hour stand-off at a Melbourne flat.

The 42-year-old shirtless man was arrested in Flemington shortly after 5pm and is expected to undergo a psychiatric assessment.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said no one was injured during the incident or in the arrest.
