Man arrested after two-hour NSW siege

Police spent more than two hours negotiating with a man who allegedly barricaded himself in a home near Newcastle following a domestic incident.

A man has been arrested following a siege near Newcastle in NSW's Hunter region.

Police were called to the Boolaroo home about 3.15pm on Wednesday and spent more than two hours negotiating with a man, 44, following an alleged domestic-related incident.

Officers stormed the house about 5.30pm and arrested the man without incident.
