Man arrested for NSW cleaner bashing

Police are interviewing a man in relation to the alleged bashing of two female cleaners north of Sydney.

A man has been arrested over the alleged bashing of two female cleaners in NSW.

The two victims were cleaning a home at Medowie in Port Stephens on Wednesday when attacked.

Police say a man confronted the pair, both 21,and assaulted them before restraining one of the women and fleeing.

Both lost consciousness and alerted neighbours to their ordeal when they woke.

They were taken to hospital with serious facial and head injuries.

Police arrested a man on Friday at a home in Mayfield.

The 32-year-old is being questioned at Waratah Police Station.
