Police have charged the 34-year-old man with attempting to possess 6kg worth of cocaine imported from Arizona in the United States inside five muscle growth accelerator containers.
Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted the alleged drug shipment at a cargo facility at Perth International Airport, and alerted the Australian Federal Police.
The AFP undertook a controlled delivery to Bunbury, south of Perth, where the man took possession of containers of substituted material.
When police later searched the man's apartment on Adelaide Terrace in central Perth, a sniffer dog found a further 200gms of powder which police suspect to be cocaine.

The AFP said the imported consignment had a street value of $2.1 million and the operation had prevented over 6000 one-gram deals from reaching the streets of Perth.
AFP Commander Jamie Strauss said the drug seizure had saved Perth $1,740,000 in health and social costs.
"The AFP is committed to combating the drug trade and (this arrest) should act as a warning to others who are seeking to import illegal narcotics into the country," he said.
The man will appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court today.
The maximum penalty for the offence is life imprisonment and/or a $825,000 fine.
